As the popularity and awareness of cryptocurrencies continues to grow, the South African Reserve Bank explores the possibility of a ‘digital rand’.

Whether you are excited or not about cryptocurrencies, the fact is they have changed the way we look at currency. Digital currencies are no fad and as they are adopted by more people around the world their impact and use will increase.

The SARB is not sitting idly by and they are experimenting with a crypto version of the rand.
