Dear Valued Member,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Bankers in South Africa NPC (IOBSA), I wish to inform you that Mrs Sharron Veldsman has announced her resignation as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the organisation. Her last day in office will be the 31st of May 2023.

During her 19-month stint as CEO, Sharron led the IOBSA with great success and implemented various initiatives to improve member experience, advance the organisation’s digitisation journey and streamline internal operations.

As the Board of Directors, we are grateful to Sharron for her outstanding service and wish her well in her future endeavours.

Sharron has expressed her leaving the IOBSA as filled with mixed emotions. “My tenure at the IOBSA has been a great learning experience in my long and varied career within the financial services sector. I would like to thank the Chairman and the Board of Directors for their support in serving the IOBSA.

“I particularly wish to thank my team for their support, work ethic and service to members. Finally, I would like to thank our members for their loyalty, support, and encouragement,” she added.

The process to recruit a new CEO will soon be underway. We are confident that there are sufficient processes in place to ensure that the organisation continues to function seamlessly during this period.

Yours sincerely,

Jill Dyers,

Chairman
