The world we knew back in January, 2020 is drastically different than the world we’re living in now. Only a year ago, the world as we knew it, got pulled out from under our feet and we’re still reeling from both the fallout and the disruptions that came with it.
The pandemic has provided a window into what could be done and what employees have the ability to do. Not capitalising on that and resetting is basically wasting a moment. If there was ever an opportunity to transform work, it is now. The end goal is sustainability and competitive advantage via employees who feel more connected with their work, and the other people (customers) they interact with.
This can be done by measuring and indexing the 5 major elements all companies have such as, Purpose, Philosophies, Processes, People and Performance as suggested by Pryor, White, Toombs and Anderson, (1998,2007). This information enables company leaders to gauge the degree to which their efforts in these areas are effective.
