While other banks scale bank their physical footprints in favour of digital, African Bank is going in the opposite direction.
According to Sibongiseni Ngundze, African Bank’s group executive for sales and distribution…
“Our research tells us that despite the increase in digital adoption, there is still a large percentage of customers who enjoy the flexibility of our offering and the opportunity to physically interact with the bank in their own communities,”
The bank is looking to increase its physical presence from 400 to 930 outlets by 2025.
The new banking pods and kiosks come hot on the heels of their mobile branch fleet which aims to reach customers closer to where they are.
